We provide a significant contribution to the most major Space programs of the European Space Agency. Our core business is to work on the ground to build bridges into space, contributing to the success of ambitious missions.

Currently, we are looking for highly enthusiastic Ground Segment Engineers (2 FTE) who will work for Telespazio Belgium, in Belgium.

What is expected from you:

The Ground Segment Engineer will be allocated to a project /or different project in the space sector in an international and multi-cultural environment. The candidate will perform technical activities in electronics, informatics, applying procedure of testing, and configuration of equipment, but not limited to. She/He will be part of a general process where design, ability to work around the world, and support ground installations failure’s troubleshooting are one of the main activities.

  • System Engineering tasks (e.g. Assembly, integration, and configuration of Galileo equipment, defining and writing (apply) procedures, use of RF/electronic test bench, …)
  • Deployment of new infrastructures around the world following dedicated procedures or the “known how” of other colleagues.
  • Able to adapt quickly in an urgency.
  • Supporting any Classified (CLA) transport from a location to a GALILEO remote site.
  • The tasks required are more focused on a technical ability to work but can be also managerial (i.e. creation of reports, understanding of management knowledge – MPP/PMAC/invoices)
  • To follow strictly a schedule defined with the Project Manager of the project about ongoing activities (dedicated tools can be used)
  • If a site is dedicated to the employee, she/he has to ensure that all stakeholders (Project Manager, subcontractors, client and third parties) receive the correct information on due time

What you offer:

The candidate must be eligible for EU security clearance.

      • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication-Electronics/Electro-Mechanics
      • Basic knowledge of satellite communication (G/T, Eb/No, uplink/downlink frequencies, link budget, etc)
      • Knowledge of RF electronics elements (LNB, LNA, filter, antenna, up-converter, etc)
      • Knowledge of RF TT&C systems
      • Knowledge of LINUX environment plus IT communication protocol (TELNET, FTP, TCP/IP, etc)
      • Basic electrical knowledge is mandatory.
      • Able to manage the installations and the operation of a ground station around the world.
      • Interface with external partners (customers, space agency, etc).
      • Experience and availability for missions around the world.
      • Very good reporting skill is required.
      • Strong collaboration skills, resourceful with a good team spirit
      • Very good capability to adapt to a multilingual environment.
      • Very good autonomy and decision-making in any kind of situation.
      • Strong ability to adapt.
      • Strong team spirit.
      • Galileo knowledge is considered an asset.
      • Good knowledge of spoken and written English;
      • Good knowledge of spoken and written French is an asset;
