On behalf of the European Space Agency, we are looking for a highly skilled Junior Radio Navigation Engineer to work in ESTEC, in the Netherlands.

What is expected from you:

  • Support navigation projects within the service activities with the design and development of Galileo PNT systems receivers, end-to-end performance, authentication, etc..
  • Design and develop corresponding SW tools required for simulation and performance assessment, including maintenance in Gitlab when applicable. This includes the upgrade and maintenance of existing SW tools within the service activities.
  • Define and implement corresponding SW/HW tools and setups in the NavLab, execute the tests, and report the technical results, way forward, and conclusions.
  • Support overall NavLab activities based on priorities.
  • Report technical results from all project and internal activities in technical reports, as required by the project and TEC-SEN.

What you offer:

  • University degree (MSc minimum) in telecommunications, electronic engineering, aerospace engineering or computer science, as well as experience in the following fields.
  • Experience in GNSS navigation, performance, and signal processing. The PhD will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge on the GNSS System and the main receiver processing components such as acquisition, tracking, and positioning algorithms, but also experience with architectures of GNSS receivers, techniques for robust positioning, navigation and timing.
  • Experience in the implementation, maintenance and operation of Radio Navigation processing, simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications.
  • Experience on software development using Python, MATLAB, C++.

Where:

You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don’t expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
